The work load picks up...

Well let me start off by saying that although this has been a busy week, it has been a wonderful week that has shown me that being a youth minister isn't all fun and games. The biggest item on my plate that is coming up is my sermon for Father's day. My father will be there with my mother and brother. I am very excited, not only because this is my first sermon in front of a congregation, but also because my father has never heard my preach before, and well I just hope that it goes well. I also have been trying to think up as many cool and fun ideas as I can about the VBS program, SonSurf that happens at the end of my internship. I am even thinking of have a competition where I may possibly get an adult assisted hair cut from either the boys or girls. I am just so blessed through all of this, and I am so stoked to see what all is coming in the future of this internship. It seems like time is flying by but I wouldn't change anything except maybe having Katey here to see my first sermon in front of a congregation. I have gained a few new hobbies already the first being mountain biking, the second being golf, and the third is well running, now that I am getting in shape using INSANITY, which is an amazing program and you should give it a try if you are trying to get in shape, I am actually able to run and enjoy it without wheezing for air. My goal is to run some sort or type of marathon when I am done with this program just to prove that I can do it. I am including the picture I took of the sign that I put up, showing that I am preaching this Sunday for Father's day. I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed week, and look for a post on Monday about how my father's day with my father and sermon on Sunday went.

God Bless,

Will

What a wonderful almost first week

Ok So far I have almost put a week into my internship, and 4 days into my insanity workout program. I love both, but the I am most excited for everything that God has blessed me with and everything Creighton has involved me in. Creighton is a huge blessing to me, and I learn something from him everyday I am with him. I have borrowed a public speaking book that I am looking forward to reading, and he has even helped me a little on my sermon for Father's Day, which I have just decided the topic of. Drum roll pleas..........A Father's faith. I will talk in another post about that sermon and probably a little about the other sermon for July 31st, which is on David and Goliath, by the way. I have visited Audry Moore twice now in the hospital, she had a heart pump put in and is probably about 80-ish years old. We found out today that she was moved from ICU into a room, praise the Lord, and looked as though she was feeling better. I pray that she feels better. I haven't actually started anything as far as things I will be doing through out the summer but I have worked on them, and tomorrow will be spent working on my lesson for Wednesday. If the weather works out, although it is storming most of the night, I will go ride tomorrow, which is hard when you are riding a bike not made for a 6' 4" person nor does it have shocks. I praise God for all of the blessings that I have received and all of the future blessings that I know God has coming my way. Thank you so much for all of the prayers, and Also pray for the kids so that I can connect with them, and that if even one, I am able to move just one in their relationship with God. Also pray for me and Katey as we are about 10 hours away from each other this summer.

Thank you for all of the prayers and for reading

Ready...Set...Go!

Ok so to my left you can see what Bulington Christian Church did to welcome, thanks for the picture Dad. I have met nothing but warm welcome's and wonderful people here, and well I love it. I have already gotten to meet most of the kids, and I have even gotten to eat with some of the families for lunch and supper. I want to say thank you very much for that. I got to talk to Creighton over the past semester for about a month almost two, about being the summer youth minister here at Burlington Christian Church. So far nothing event wise has happened but I am already scheduled to teach a Wednesday night class, and teach the Sunday school class for the college/young adult age class and the Children's Church. My schedule is quickly filling up, but I would not have it any other way. I have been blessed so much by God and I would not even think twice that this is exactly where God wants me and that He will use me so much. I also am 100% sure that God will use this church to bless me and bring me so much experience. My first morning here, I had the pleasure to attend the Men's breakfast and let me tell you they know how to cook here. After the breakfast I was invited to play golf, and well I don't really play. They payed for my fee and brought me some clubs to use, and after everyone was ready we set out. I had a blast and although I have said it many times to the congregation here, I want to say thank you once again. It is not even a week into working here and already I am very excited for my ministry here. This reminds me of a hymn that I love so much

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
I love this hymn because it reminds me of the love that God has for me, and that I see everyday

Till next time, God bless to you all and I can not wait to see this summer unfold. For those wishing to send me mail can send it to:
